| Located in Rio Grande, El Yunque has been declared a United Nations World Biosphere Reserve, this Caribbean National Forest is the only tropical rain forest managed by the US Forest Service. It is also one of the most accessible and well-maintained rain forests in the world and an ideal site for a picnic or outing. Rio Grande is only about a 40 minute drive to San Juan and about 15 minutes to Fajardo, making it ideally located for both shopping trips into the metro area or snorkel day trips to nearby uninhabited little islands off the shore of Fajardo. |

| Fajardo is well known for its watersports which includes scuba, snorkel, sailing, para-sailing and deep sea fishing. It is also famous for its Las Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve which embodies almost all of Puerto Rico’s many ecological communities in just 316 acres. In a couple of hours you can discover the unique character of seven different tropical habitats: dry forest, mangroves,lagoons, sandy and rocky beaches, thalassia beds and coral reefs. |
